CAIT
Indonesian Cruising Permit
This is a permit for your yacht to enter Indonesia and is issued by the Indonesian Government document, it is for the yacht only and is is valid only for the fixed period of three months.
Your CAIT details cannot be changed after it is sent to be processed in Jakarta and is NOT extendible or transferrable and it is NOT a VISA for either the captain or crew, however it is an Indonesian Government regulation that everybody person on your yacht is listed on your CAIT.
If you do arrive in Indonesia with additional crew on board who are not listed on your CAIT it may lead to delays and extra “expenses” and again when you arrive in other ports throughout Indonesia.
Your Indonesian Cruising Permit (CAIT) and selecting your route though Indonesia
So we can apply for your CAIT you should plan your intended route through Indonesia including the approximate date you expect to arrive at each major port or large island, exact dates are not neccessary. Please note that you MUST list all major ports and large islands that you intend to visit. It is NOT necessary to include small or intermediate islands and small towns. All that is needed is for you to nominate the large islands and ports you wish to visit and the approximate date of arrival. We can provide a complete list for you otherwise.
Your date of arrival at each destination is not critical a week early or late will not be a problem. However if you visit a large town or port that is not listed on your CAIT it may become “expensive” and may cause you delays. After you clear in at your first port of entry, then free to go to any place in Indonesia mentioned on your CAIT.
